Awareness List

This is a list of Cleveland Teaching Collaborative actionable findings that have immediate implications for PK-12 & higher education institutions during pandemic teaching and learning as well as the upcoming transition to postpandemic teaching and learning. What does the #postpandemicteacher need to foster deep learning, accessibility, equity, and student success?

University

  • HyFlex or hybrid courses need to be identified consistently in registrar documentation and course schedules. Instructors are currently designing courses in a range of formats, many of which will continue to be used in postpandemic teaching and learning. For example, Cleveland State University has categories for in-person courses, web-blend (hybrid), and asynchronous web courses but needs to rethink labels for a synchronous, remote format class.
  • Integrating part-time and contingent faculty & staff into our communication channels. Center for Faculty Excellence is a leader has models for this already with their orientation work.
  • Create accessible physical and online landing spaces for instructors, especially part-time or rotating instructors- a “start up” guide for courses.
